REMINDER: Last two events with SKRIP Orkestra!

Dear Friends, Colleagues and Family-

We are inviting you to be part of this very special final two events with SKRIP Orkestra in New York.

Last week’s performances at John Jay College’s Gerald W. Lynch Theater went exceptionally well and was attended by several reviewers including playwright, Karen Malpede who will write about this project for The Drama Review.

Friday October 29 7:30-10:30pm   Hosted by Asher Baumrin of teen, rock band Opaque along with various New York personalities sharing the stage in cabaret performances with SKRIP Orkestra at South Oxford Space.  Special guest emcee Brandon Goodman!

Plus Kobi Skolnick of Center for World Religions, Diplomacy and Conflict Resolution at George Mason University who will reveal incidents of his journey from violence to peace activism.  Plus an excerpt of Dispatches from (A)mended America, Godfrey L. Simmons, Jr. and Brandt Adams' stunning investigation of Obama and race in America, and a selection from ALATetc’s work on Red Tent Fabrik exploring the common roots and rituals of the three Abrahamic religions, Judaism, Islam, and Christianity, now in development in the lab.

The finale is a night of riotous fun on Saturday October 30th, when the unstoppable comedienne Hazelle Goodman sends SKRIP off with laughter.

*Six women from all over the former Yugoslavia share stories of war-torn childhoods, drawing inspiration from a great variety of sources. From the darkness of McDonagh's Pillowman and Andersen tales, to the playful Tim Burton, folk song and uncompromising punk.
